Award Amount

$500 annually, non-renewable. All funds will be paid directly to the student’s college or university of choice.

Recipients

Two awards offered annually. Two will be provided for each deadline date. One will be selected by staff and the other will be selected through audience voting and participation on social media.

Eligibility

  • Must be a high school sophomore, junior, senior, or college freshman.
  • This award is for U.S. students.

Additional Information

The Youth Forward Scholarship Program is awarded annually for the purposes of encouraging and rewarding those students who demonstrate a strong commitment to volunteer work and community service. Applicants are encouraged to share their favorite essays on social media, and each share will be counted as one vote. At the end of the voting period, one winner will be selected based on who received the most votes, and one winner will be selected based on the opinions of staff. Winners will be required to provide proof of enrollment. If the applicant is not yet eligible to enroll in college, funds will be held in reserve until such time as proof of enrollment can be provided.

This scholarship is not awarded based on financial need. Relatives of ACP staff or board members may not apply.

Deadline Information

To apply, students must write an essay of up to 500 words in length that responds to the community-service related topics listed at the provider website. Students must also submit a picture of themselves for promotional purposes in the case of award selection. All applications and supporting documents must be submitted no later than the deadline date.
